Hello! First of all, congrats on getting multiple internships. That is a feat in and of itself! As for creating social media graphics, it's important to think about what the purpose of the post is. One of the things I run into frequently is whether or not a graphic needs copy on it. Am I trying to get people to sign up for something? Well, it should probably say so on the graphic since people scroll very quickly.

In a broader sense of planning social media posts, you need to consider the client themself. What are they selling, if anything? Try to feature their products in all kinds of ways, whether that be through photography, reels, or more. Sometimes, they are selling themselves and trying to become more well-known. Do they have a team of people that they want to feature? Great, you can celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and any community involvement they have.

As for coming up with original ideas, that comes from you. I would try to set aside time each week to simply brainstorm. You can go places for inspiration, like competitors social pages or just Pinterest, and wait for the inspiration to strike.

Hi Jensine! Congratulations on securing those marketing internships! It's fantastic to see your enthusiasm and drive to excel in your field. As an HR manager, I'm here to provide you with some actionable tips to make the most out of your internship experience.

When it comes to creating social media posts, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Know Your Audience: Before you start brainstorming ideas, take some time to understand your target audience. What are their interests, preferences, and pain points? Tailoring your content to resonate with your audience will increase engagement and drive results.
Stay Authentic: Authenticity is key to creating compelling social media content. Be genuine and transparent in your messaging, and strive to create posts that reflect the values and personality of the brand you're representing.
Be Creative: Coming up with original ideas can be challenging, but don't be afraid to think outside the box! Brainstorm with your team, draw inspiration from industry trends and competitor analysis, and don't shy away from experimenting with new formats and approaches.
Tell Stories: People love stories, so use storytelling to captivate your audience and make your content more engaging. Whether it's sharing customer testimonials, behind-the-scenes glimpses, or success stories, storytelling can help create emotional connections with your audience.
Use Visuals Wisely: Visuals are a powerful tool in social media marketing, so make sure to use them effectively. Invest in high-quality images and videos that align with your brand's aesthetic and messaging, and don't forget to optimize them for each platform's specifications.
Stay Consistent: Consistency is key to building a strong presence on social media. Develop a content calendar to plan and schedule your posts in advance, and maintain a consistent posting frequency to keep your audience engaged and coming back for more.
Remember, your internship is a valuable opportunity to learn and grow, so don't hesitate to ask questions, seek feedback, and take initiative. Embrace the challenges, stay open to new ideas, and approach each task with enthusiasm and creativity. With your passion and dedication, you're sure to make a positive impact during your internship and beyond.

Best of luck, Jensine! I'm excited to see where your internship journey takes you.

Great accomplishment, Jensine!
As was previously said, know the company you are now keeping. Ask if there is a particular audience that they are trying to reach. Look into the demographics of said audience to see where you might start. If it is something you are not familiar with ask those of similar backgrounds for their input.
A helpful route is to take that niche you are trying to reach and plug it into any given trade show association. You will be amazed at the contacts and diverse information of connectivity that will flow forth for your consumption. The more you dig the smarter you will be. Let your curiosity lead you down the unbeaten path.
Happy Trails!

Congrats on the internship.

For social media posts, as many people have mentioned here, the key is knowing your audience. Not just who they are, but where they are (mentally and physically).

As one top ad person said, People don't read ads, they read what interests them, and sometimes that's an ad.

How do you stop them in their tracks? How can you stand out? Look at the posts the audience is likely digesting now. How can you differentiate your posts? That might mean being quiet while others are being loud. That might mean being minimalist while others are throwing everything at the audience? A lot of creating advertising is, to be honest, common sense.

Know your consumer. And then think like them.

Hi Jensine

Congratulations on getting accepted into marketing internships! Creating engaging social media posts is a great way to show your skills and make an impact.
I would say that trying to understand your audience, researching and analyzing your target audience to understand their preferences, interests, and demographics. Setting clear goals, such as determining the objectives of your social media posts.

Be consistent with branding. Maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all your social media posts. This helps in building brand recognition and trust. Use hashtags strategically. Research relevant hashtags that are popular in your industry or niche. Incorporate them into your posts to increase discoverability and reach a wider audience.

Stay inspired. Follow industry influencers, thought leaders, and brands that inspire you. Pay attention to their content and adapt it to fit your brand's voice and style. Don't be afraid to try new things and experiment with different types of content. Monitor the performance of your posts and learn from the data. Iterate and refine your approach based on what works best.

Remember, originality comes from a combination of creativity, research, and understanding your audience. By staying true to your brand and consistently delivering valuable content, you'll be able to create engaging social media posts that resonate with your audience. Good luck with your internships!

Brainstorm with colleagues.
Join a marketing association.
Check with others when you are not sure.
Make sure you understand who your audience is - know analytics, your company's reach and what others say about you.
Bottom line - be aware and attentive. Things change on a dime in marketing. Be creative and bold but always on brand.

Hello Jensine! Here are my tips for you:

>Always do some research on the brand or company that you are creating posts for. See what they've done in the past, which tone they use, if they are more serious, playful, or somewhere in the middle. Do they use emojis or not? Do they write long, thoughtful captions or short smart phrases? This will give you a context to create something and also you will know what not to do if they already did it. Also you can see what works best with their audience.

>Search for inspiration. Look at competitor's profiles to see what they are doing, see if there's something you liked or their audience liked, you can use that as an idea to inspire yourself for creating something new. You can also go to accounts that you really like even if it's a different industry, just to get inspiration and ideas. When you start researching, usually new ideas start coming to your mind automatically :)

>Know the algorithm. Do your research on what each social media platform preferes and boosts currently, what type of content performs best, and use that as a guideline for your content creation.

>Know your audience. Let's say you are creating social media posts for a restaurant. Who are the clients of this restaurant? Are they young? Is it families? Think about who they are, what they like, what they look for in social media, their habits, what other topics interest them? This can help you with creating ideas that can connect with them on a deeper level or catch their attention.

When you start creating posts, you'll slowly start to figure out what your style is, what works best for you. Don't be afraid of doing things differently, don't be so hard on yourself as you are just starting, and always know that people who are good at this are usually good because they've done it a thousand times already :) and my final advice would be to remember that social media is all about human connections after all, if you manage to really connect with someone who read your post, even if it's just one person, then you should feel proud!

Best wishes for your internships!

Ryan’s Answer

When it comes to internships, it's crucial to be proactive and actively look for ways to add value. Don't just sit back and wait for tasks to be handed to you. Instead, step up to the plate by asking for more projects, volunteering to assist your teammates, and showing your eagerness to learn and shoulder responsibility.

Remember, your internship is a golden ticket to connect with professionals in your field. So, make the most of it. Participate in company events, team meetings, and social get-togethers to meet new people and forge strong relationships. Networking isn't just about socializing - it could open doors to invaluable mentorship, job recommendations, and insider knowledge about the industry. So, go ahead and seize every opportunity that comes your way!
