About

I am an aspiring public health professional with a passion for healthcare and a dedication to improving the well-being of individuals and communities. In January 2024, I will embark on a journey to earn my Master of Science in Public Health at Eastern Washington University, building on the foundation of my Bachelor's degree in Science from Mississippi University for Women, which I obtained in May 2019. My academic journey also includes an Associate of Arts degree from East Mississippi Community College in Mayhew, Mississippi.

My practical experience in healthcare began in January 2017 when I became a Certified Nurse Assistant at Millsaps Career & Technology Center in Starkville, Mississippi. In this role, I honed my clinical expertise, providing compassionate care and support to individuals in need. This experience laid the groundwork for my subsequent roles in healthcare.

Currently, I am a Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Technician at Emory University Healthcare in Atlanta, GA, where I actively contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans. My responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, offering emotional support to patients and families, and ensuring a safe and clean environment in the bone marrow transplant unit.

Before my current role, I served as an Emergency Room Technician at Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a Neuroscience Nurse Assistant at the same institution. In these positions, I demonstrated a commitment to patient care, meticulous documentation, and effective communication within healthcare teams.

My professional journey also includes experience as a Critical Care Unit Coordinator at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital - Fairview Health System in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. In this role, I managed patient communication, conducted safety checks, and maintained a compassionate demeanor in all interactions.

Throughout my career, I have consistently exhibited attention to detail, critical thinking, effective communication, leadership, adaptability, and teamwork. My dedication to the field of public health is a driving force as I pursue further education and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals and communities.
