About
I started my career in the software industry as a developer and later became a team leader and project manager. I spent time working as the Technical Director of a software company in Asia, and a year teaching at an Australian University in Vietnam before returning to the UK to set up Knowledge Train.
Simon’s Career Stories
What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?
I wished I had been encouraged to ask more questions. That's because the more you ask, the more you learn, and the faster you learn. I was often left to figure things out myself. Depending upon what it was, that might have taken a long time. Having someone to explain stuff I didn't understand would have speeded up the process. I see this amongst younger members of our team. They are often too shy to ask questions but I always encourage them to ask as many as they need so that they learn as fast as possible.
