Cindy’s Career Stories

What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?

My first summer job as a cashier at a 5 and dime, I received advice from the small business owner, Mr. Gilpin. He handed me a cleaning towel, and said, "never let anyone see you not be busy. If you don't have anything to do, clean." Lesson: There is always something to do - find it and do it! Never be seen as the one not working.
