Hi Liliana. One of the best career paths for flexibility and creativity is entrepreneurship. If you start your own business, you have the freedom to decide when and where you work. You can create your own schedule, work on projects you're passionate about, and, depending on your business, travel to different places to meet clients or attend events. Running your own business requires a lot of hard work, but if you like being in control and solving problems, it can be very rewarding.
Another field to consider is marketing and advertising. This career allows you to be creative, especially when it comes to designing campaigns, creating content, or developing new strategies for brands. Many marketing jobs allow you to work from home or set your own hours, which gives you a lot of flexibility. There are also travel opportunities, especially if you're working with international clients or attending conferences. Marketing is always changing, so there's always room to be creative and think of new ways to reach customers.
Consulting is another great option if you want variety and travel. As a consultant, you would work with different companies, helping them improve their business. This job usually gives you the freedom to choose which projects you work on, so you can manage your time as you like. You might also travel for meetings or work with clients from other countries, so there's a lot of potential for travel. Consulting also allows you to think creatively to solve problems and provide unique solutions for clients.
If you like organizing and planning, event planning could be a good choice. This career lets you use your creativity to design events like weddings, conferences, and corporate meetings. You can often set your own schedule and work with different clients, which adds flexibility. Event planners also travel to different locations to organize events, so you could end up working in various cities or even countries.

Hi Liliana,
Since you are majoring in business you'll be able to choose a very flexible career path. A business degree is useful in just about any industry including entrepreneurship.
You can choose to start your own business and you'll be in charge of when, where, how and on what you work.
You can go into consulting, and you'll be travelling to clients and projects. You could work in the travel/hospitality industry and enjoy travel perks. If you want to be in a creative field, music or art businesses might be your thing - maybe a music or film studio, a gallery or an auction house?
Many other jobs in the business sector are remote or hybrid now and can be done from anywhere if your employer allows it.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!

Thanks for the question! There are actually a lot of business careers that offer flexibility, travel, and creative freedom. Here are some great paths to explore: Marketing&Brand Management, Consulting, Event Planning, Entrepreneurship, and Product Management.
I would recommend looking for a career that combines:
* Project-based work (gives flexibility)
* People interaction (often includes travel)
* Creative decision-making (lets you shape ideas)
You don’t have to pick one today. But exploring these areas, internships, job shadows, even talking to people in these fields, can help you see what fits your personality and goals. Hope this helps!

What worked out for me was IT sales for big international software/SaaS/PaaS companies - the job titles would be "Account Executive" or entry roles might be "EDR/SDR - Enterprise/Sales Development Representative")
Reasons why this has worked out for me:
- relatively early on in your career, you are encouraged to meet your customers face-to-face, and the travel is paid for
- the bigger the company you work for, the more likely they are to send you to various locations for things such as: year kick-offs (which is a huge convention to kick off the new financial year), winner's circle (which is a free holiday for the highest performers) and more
- as you grow more senior, the bigger the accounts (customers) that you'll be trusted with, and then you travel more and more because face-to-face interactions become more important
- due to remote work that is still established in IT firms, and largely being in charge of your own schedule, it is one of the few careers out there that, in my experience, offers a VERY good pay while at the same time offering you flexibility and time to enjoy your life too. For example, sales is usually a lot less demanding than consulting. It has its pressures of course, but you learn to handle it
- it's perfect for business majors because you already understand your clients with your business background
Two points to add:
Referring to the point above about consulting - consulting makes you travel even more than sales, usually. So if you care less about work-life balance for now and more about travel (you're young and I assume you have no kids/anybody else to take care of), consulting might be an excellent choice to fast-launch your experience and travel potential
I do not agree with the answers above that tell you to start your own business straight away - by all means, fine as an end goal, but do yourself the favour and go into a salaried position first, learn the ropes as you're interacting with all sorts of businesses, learn from that, and then with that experience under your belt, go solo. Do not do it as a first step.

Hi Liliana,
That’s exciting that you’re starting your business major soon, and it’s great you’re already thinking about the kind of career environment you want! If flexibility, travel opportunities, and creative freedom are important to you, there are several business careers that could be a great fit.
Real estate is a popular option for those seeking flexibility. As a real estate agent or broker, you often have control over your schedule, and the job can involve travel as you meet clients, visit properties, and explore different neighborhoods. Plus, there’s plenty of room for creativity in how you market properties and build your personal brand.
Coaching is another career path that offers a lot of freedom and travel potential. Whether it’s business coaching, life coaching, or leadership coaching, many professionals run their own practices, set their own hours, and work with clients locally or remotely—all while helping others grow and succeed.
Entrepreneurial roles also provide tremendous creative freedom and flexibility. Starting your own business, consulting firm, or even a social enterprise allows you to shape your work environment, set your schedule, and potentially travel for networking, conferences, or expanding your business. Entrepreneurship requires a wide skill set and a lot of initiative, but it can be incredibly rewarding.
Two other options to consider include digital marketing and event planning. Digital marketing professionals often enjoy the ability to work remotely and set flexible schedules, all while using creativity to craft campaigns and engage audiences globally. Event planners, on the other hand, frequently travel to coordinate and manage events, and though their schedule can be busy during events, they often have significant control over their work hours and creative decisions, though they may have to do some more extensive travel. Social media management, which is similar to digital marketing, may provide great opportunities for remote work.
As you begin your studies, try to explore internships or projects that give you a taste of these fields. This firsthand experience can help clarify what fits best with your goals and lifestyle. Remember, business is a broad field with many paths—finding the right one is all about aligning your interests and values with your career choices.
Best wishes on your college journey and future career!

It depends on your preferred way to travel. If you prefer to travel by train, look for creative jobs at a train company. If you prefer flying, work for an airline. The point is sometimes you may or may not need to travel for work, but if you work for a company that provides transportation, then you'll have a lot of flexibility to ride either for free (most likely) or at a very, very low cost.

Hi Lilana!
Congratulations on this exciting new chapter in your life!
You have so many possibilities ahead of you. Since 2020, many companies offer hybrid or fully remote work. You can explore roles in HR, Finance, or Sales from anywhere. If you want to travel, look for companies with a global presence, as they offer more chances to see the world!
To get started, check out LinkedIn or Indeed for fully remote positions and see what catches your interest. Then, you can start applying.
Good luck with your future plans and your new degree!

Hi Liliana!
Congratulations on starting this exciting journey!
You've asked a fantastic question. There are plenty of business careers that offer flexibility, travel opportunities, and creative freedom.
A piece of advice I've found helpful is to embrace change and think about what these terms mean to you. Does flexibility mean working from home, or does it mean developing your role? What does creative freedom look like for you?
For each new adventure, consider what you want from a job, a manager, and a company. This will help you find the best fit for both you and them.
Roles that involve meeting clients or attending events often include travel, while creative roles might involve design or new projects.
Stay open to new ideas and opportunities that feel right. Explore your network and community to find your path. Believe in yourself and aim high. You'll discover opportunities and support everywhere.
Best of luck to you!
