What actions would you recommend for someone starting college who’s interested in how contracts and roster decisions shape sports teams, and how can I start building relationships or finding guidance early on ?

I first got interested in this playing Franchise mode in MLB The Show, and it got me paying attention to how teams are actually built and run. I’m starting college in the fall and am leaning toward the business and legal side of sports. I’m trying to figure out what I can start doing early to move in that direction.

If you have a local nonprofessional team, I’d recommend reaching out! Some people truly love what they do and they might be able to share how they approach things. Practical knowledge from someone doing the work can go a long way.
