After college, how do you start looking for careers in a professional field that matches your degree? Is it an easy process?
I'm going into veterinary medicine, and I'm concerned that I will not be able to easily find a job after I graduate from school, and that I will not be able to find a related job between college and veterinary school.

Hi Olivia! Networking is very helpful when it comes to the job search. Talk to people you already know but don't be afraid to reach out and build new connections to people who are doing jobs you are interested in. This can help build a relationship and open doors for you. LinkedIn is a great place to start for networking building. It is easy to use and connect with people like any other social media platform. For you industry, this may look more like reaching out to local veterinary offices in your area and learn about what help they may need or opportunities they have. This can feel uncomfortable but it is very worth it. Try reaching out to veterinary schools as well to see if they have any leads.

Hi Olivia,
It’s definitely not an easy process especially after you graduate. What I did was apply to jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed and connect with companies and people who work in the field your interested in. You should also look into your college career center. They should be able to provide with connections and resume training and support.
