Good weekend-only jobs?

Hi. I'm just wondering if anybody knows of some good jobs that can hire people only for the weekends. I'm a college student who already works 20 hours a week at the library so the weekend is all that I can manage. I've been considering applying to restaurants and the like because it seems like that's where I'd have the best luck. #retail #restaurants #jobs-for-college-students #weekend-jobs

I worked at several restaurants throughout college. They always need people on the weekends and the money is good for the hours. Usually shifts were not longer than 6 hours. If you want to apply to a restaurant, you may need to start as a host and work in that for a while before you are a waiter. You should emphasize your customer service and time management skills.

Good luck!

When I was a college student I worked the same as you and I added a weekend job at a group home , you can also try nursing homes or hospitals. Any place where you can work overnights Friday evening through Saturday morning, and then from Saturday evening though Sunday morning. Some places pay a little more, a differential, for working overnight hours.

Hi Melody, weekend jobs and part time jobs always available in areas such as retail stores, restaurants is a great way because you will be able to earn extra money with tips. Large retail stores-always looking for weekend associates-take a look which large retail stores do you have in your area.

some banks- also looking for part time associates and weekend- take a look which banks are in your area and browse online to see if they have any part time cashier/teller job opportunities.

Also, check to see if there are tutoring services that you can deliver. Perhaps, you could have few tutoring sessions via Skype- which also gives you the flexibility but also you can do this out of the comfort of your home and still focus on college work plus utilize your expertise to support others.

i recently got a part time job at Home goods. I love it! Its so different than my full time job. I got it to supplement my income a bit. Talking to customers and working in the back room. Opening boxes striating shelves, offering advise on certain things. time goes by quickly. Its and excellent company. Try applying there.

Restaurant manager here, highly recommend applying for working in a restaurant or bar. The shifts are typically shorter than retail and the environment is fast paced and typically fun! Also, restaurants are flexible in how much you work, (if you have a ton of homework/ finals its typically pretty easy to switch shifts) or give you the ability to pick up more shifts when you can/want to. Also, the earning potential is great, especially if you love interacting with people. I would look for locally owned restaurants that have an upscale menu first (your pay is typically based on tips, even in support positions, and the higher the total ticket, the more you make), and if that isn't fruitful, try a chain. You often have to work up from hostess or busser but those positions can be incredibly lucrative as well for a part time job and give you a foot in the door. Good luck! I would especially recommend a position like this to someone who is personable, loves food, likes a fast paced work environment and the opportunity to interact with a lot of different types of people every day.
