In every part of life, including jobs, there are good and bad sides. It's your mindset that determines how well you adjust to changes and respond to positive or negative vibes around you.

As an automotive engineer you're a well rounded and a complete technical guy. You understand everything about cars and other automobiles from electronics to suspension, chassis, engine and air conditioning systems.
The only con that I think is it gets boring sometimes and you get tired working in a plant, managing stuff, designing parts and quality inspection of each and every aspect of the product.
