There are a variety of companies who need employees with computer skills. I like that you have focused on a job title like IT Specialist. I would challenge you to thnk about how you want to use this skillset. An IT Specialist can be someone in a call center to someone in cyber security and other areas. Where I work (AT&T), we have internships in various areas of the company. (I have shared the link in the steps below. High levels of knowledge in Information Technology can be valuable in a variety of fields. Your challenge will be how you see yourself using your knowledge. Do you want to be of service, do you want to create new products (hardware or software), or start a business? I mention this because it is very different to apply your skills to different types of jobs. For example, I am an instructional designer. I have done this work for a variety of industries. It was very different to create training for banks versus a travel company versus a telecommunications company. It also shapes the way that I grow in my skills. As a designer, I need to be able to create in a variety of ways for one company and only need one skill (like videography) for an another company.
