As an early high school graduate, how can I pay for my agriculture degree without going into debt ?

I will graduate right after turning 17, but I am worried that graduating at a young age, I will not have enough money to fund my degree. I have held a steady ranch hand job for 3 years, however, only make minimum wage. I plan to go to community college to finish my associate degree and perhaps eventually transfer to a larger school for my bachelors. Even with this plan I may not be able to afford it.

Hey Emerson,

I totally get it—I've got two kids in college right now, so this is close to my heart! Here are some friendly tips to help pay for college and keep debt low:

1. **Set a Budget.** Plan your spending before the month starts and keep track of it. This helps you avoid wondering where your money went.

2. **Fill Out the FAFSA.** Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is crucial. It helps schools decide how much aid you can get, like grants and scholarships.

3. **Pick an Affordable School.** Staying in-state can save a lot. Focus on the cost of the school more than other factors.

4. **Apply for Scholarships.** Scholarships are awesome because they’re free money you don’t have to pay back. Check with your counselor for application tips.

5. **Use Grants.** Grants are based on financial need and don’t have to be repaid. After filling out the FAFSA, you'll find out which grants you qualify for.

6. **Earn College Credits in High School.** Taking AP classes can help you earn college credits early.

7. **Cut Food and Supply Costs.** Besides tuition, try to save on food and supplies each semester.

8. **Work During College.** Getting a job can help with expenses and teach you valuable skills like time management.

9. **Limit Housing Costs.** Housing is a big expense. Consider living off-campus to save money.

Hope these tips help!

Dear Emerson,

I recently saw an fb reel where the individual talks about how two well known organizations are paying for 100% of college tuition. I hope this is helpful to you.
