Are there any part-time, remote (and preferably entry-level) jobs someone turning 18 could do?

What paid jobs can I apply at as someone about to turn 18 completing her high school degree? I'm in the Philippines, so I'm searching for part-time remote work flexible to students' schedules (I can work nights).

Most of my previous experiences are ambassadorships in large nonprofits (mentoring 100+ people and hosting events) and business-related internships (in an NYC consulting agency and a nonprofit for students, all remote) where I handle many people. I have also volunteered as an assistant teacher for two years from 2023 to 2025.

I can work in Excel, data entry, virtual assisting, operations, and recruiting. However, part-time, remote entry-level jobs on sites like Indeed are scarce. Apologies if it was so long and if I'm overly idealistic.

Hello, Anna !

If Indeed has not been helpful for you with jobs that you qualify for, perhaps there are other ways that you can go about applying for jobs. Your chances may be increased if you consider looking for work on site, in person. You certainly have a lot of skills.

Think about what type of work you want to do most. Create your resume and a cover letter to send to prospective employers. I would suggest thinking about some companies and non-profit organizations and hospitals that you'd be able to get to and visit their website to apply for any available jobs listed in their Employment link.

You could also go to local hospitals to visit their Human Resources Department and inquire about jobs there. For now, try to be open to accepting work even if it is not the same exact work you've done before. You can consider tutoring online, but that is usually during the day unless you can get international students that have a time zone in the day while it's night in the Philippines. This is just going to be a matter of you reading employment notices, reading the requirements for the job and applying if you meet those requirements.

Visit the Library and apply for a job there. Also apply for jobs at the Filipino Post Newspaper for something you may qualify for.

For some very helpful connections when you are planning for college, connect with the Commission on Higher Education to find out about the Philippine's version of the Work Study Program for when you are in college. Also contact My Dream in a Shoebox. They can help you out with financial aid and scholarships for college.

Register at Linked In and follow companies that you'd like to work at. Try the employment notices at the websites Jobstreet, Philjobnet, and Mynimo, My advice is that if you want a job before college, be open minded about venturing to on site, in person jobs, especially if you're looking for part time.

You are not idealistic because most people do want to work, however, it's a question of being flexible and utilizing your skills at companies other than the ones you've worked at before. Reach out to the places I have mentioned here and keep thinking positive. Something will come along for you .

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !

BPO jobs are quite popular for part-time work in the Philippines, and they offer good pay for part-time hours.

There are some jobs available. But be careful. There are a lot of scammers out there. Be sure it is a real company before you accept a job. Never pay to get a job. Never take a check for work you have not done yet. Be careful, ask questions and check them out before going to work for them.
I wish you luck.
