When choosing a career path Grace, you should carefully consider all aspects of what that career can offer you over the coarse of a lifetime. Keep in mind as you do so that what may appeal to you now may not appeal to you as much a decade or more from now. Business majors have more job security than other majors because they are needed in virtually all industries. Whether it’s Disney, Microsoft, all industries need people with business acumen to function and prosper. This will always keep the demand for business majors relatively high.
When majoring in business, many students opt to select an emphasis for their studies. Some examples of emphases from which business majors choose are accounting, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Usually, a business emphasis means that you will receive a broad background in business, but will receive more focused and specialized knowledge in the field you choose your emphasis.
ACCOUNTING EMPHASIS
Accounting is considered to be the “language of business” since different people involved in business use accounting-based data to communicate and determine the financial well-being of a business. The study of accounting is also used to keep track of all financial activities within a business, including budgets, general ledgers, and balance sheets. Many business majors with an emphasis in accounting opt to sit for the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam. This certification allows the individual to have national accreditation, and opens up job opportunities vastly, turning a general business degree into a specialized and successful career.

Your school can really help guide you to what area of business you will excel in. The first thing to understand is what you are passionate about. You can start small and be flexible with yourself. Take a personality test- either one from your school or one I listed below. This can help guide you to understand yourself more. Don't box yourself into one degree or specialization in Business. Take classes that sound interesting to you. Go general, then know you can learn more later depending on the job. Find a good leader in your job who can guide you to learn more about you in the role or different roles in a company you want to get into. Ask for lots of feedback - from friends, family, people you work with/will work with. This can help you learn more and understand more about you to guide you. For example, I thought because I was good with numbers I should go into accounting. When I talked more to family and friends- they said really? But you are such a natural born leader and you are great with people! I now have a career in banking/lending and enjoy the leadership aspect of my career the most. :) best of luck to you!

If you're in High School, you should plan to apply to college/university and try to get into the best university possible.
While it is sometimes optimal to study at a Business school, any of the STEM fields will lead yourself to a career in business such as Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics/Physics. Choose wisely based on what you want to do in business and not choose based on starting a business career. I'd advise to not study business administration, but a field such as those listed or something like Marketing.
