There are many things that you can do to "market Yourself". Linked in and creating a profile as well as adding your skills is a good start. As you grow in the career skills area, having others attest to your skills is great. Don't count out just going to Professional organization meetings and gatherings. You never know who you might meet.

Great ideas, Yaz! Can you give Emmanuel a little more information on how to leverage those tools?

If you are currently pursuing a career in engineering it would be helpful to join professional organizations as a student member and attend events and conferences. It will provide an opportunity to keep abreast of the industry and meet working professionals. It is also something that you can put on your resume and mention your involvement on your cover letters when looking for employment.

Start by crafting a compelling resume that highlights your unique skills and relevant qualifications. Become a part of professional organizations in your field to build a strong network. If you spot a chance to take on a leadership role within these organizations, seize it. This will not only enhance your resume but also demonstrate your leadership abilities. Pursue certifications that align with your career aspirations, as they can significantly boost your professional profile.

Learning to network goes a long way,. Understanding how to introduce yourself, learning to ask others questions to get them talking and being able to build quality connections will go a long way.
Be mindful of what you post online. Keep your social updated and have a quality LinkedIn profile.
People want to work with people who appear confident, so understanding your value and being able to convey it will also be helpful in marketing yourself.

Firstly, let's identify what you wish to promote about yourself. What are your career aspirations? There's a plethora of professional platforms that allow you to showcase your skills and talents. Linkedin, being one of the most widely used, is a great place to start. It's a platform where you can share your past work experiences, interests, explore job opportunities, and investigate different companies. It comes in two versions: free and premium. But don't worry, even without the premium version, you can still reap the benefits it offers. So, go ahead and start building your professional profile, your future awaits!

I would challenge yourself to know what you want to be before asking how to become that.
Every professional, before or after, internet/social media has a recipe for success and reading through the advice can be equaling daunting.
I would not discourage you from using any of the advice above. I heard it and used some of it in my career. Obviously everyone providing advice is intending to well for your career.
The point of my advice is this:
1.) If you want a corporate career then professional networks (ie means to get work) are huge.
2.) If you want to add in climbing corporate ladder then take time to specialize in some business acumen.
3.) If you just like designing and going home at end of the day then get into school get a degree and a job.
Without doing any more you need to know where you’re going and match your destination to a mentors position and talk with them. There are just to many variables and preferences not being discussed. Someone local will understand working environment and resources. Good luck.

Internships are probably the best way to build skills and make yourself marketable. In order to get an internship you want to go to career fairs and keep an eye on handshake website. Previous experience in jobs, leadership in school and outside orgs are always good things to talk about.
