There are some great answers here, but I'll add some thoughts as well.

A business degree can lead you to any number of career paths; ultimately the question becomes "what are you interested in?" A degree in business administration could lead you to a career managing people, managing processes, managing solutions, managing money, working in nonprofits, etc. If you think about it, any company that you might start or work for will need people who understand business processes, finance, accounting, sales, marketing, human resources, and the like. If you are an analytical person, you could be designing processes, creating requirements, or deriving insights from data. If you're a people person, you could be helping employees to become their best with internal company initiatives.

I would spend some time thinking about what kinds of activities you think you would enjoy doing as a worker, and then start talking to people in business to see who does those things and how they got there. Most of us out here are happy to share our experiences to help younger people get themselves pointed in the right direction.

I think the two most versatile college degrees are: 1. Business Management and 2. Computer Science. Very applicable in almost any industry and role. Great way to get your foot in the door in most professional job opportunities. A business degree will give you great fundamentals that you can use in many roles. Great choice!

A business administration degree is great to get your foot in the door into any business you can think of. Understanding how a business works will set you apart from your competition. Taking into consideration that the degree indicates you can run a business, you could very well use it to get into management at a Fortune 500 company. On the other hand, if you wanted to actually run your own business, you could do that as well! One thing to note is that a business degree is not required, but you will be able to draft some serious business proposals and land funding for whatever business you would like to open. Great question Sky!

I really think business is a great field to go into since it keeps your options wide open. That way you are not committing to one specific field and find out later that you hate it. Some fields in business include:

1. Operations
2. Finance
3. Sales
4. Marketing
5. Human Resources

I decided to go into Business Operations since operations touches almost every facet of the organization. I enjoy the different challenges and operations also gives me the flexibility to try new things. Another great aspect about operations is they usually support the other divisions of an organization. Since, there are many divisions of an company if you do not enjoy one area its not a big deal since you can support other areas of the business.

Many larger companies will start you in a rotational analyst program. By doing this you will get to see usually 2-4 different sections of the business. Companies offer this to not only help you hone in on your career path but many companies have realized that if there employees actually enjoy their job they will get better overall performance.

The great thing about a Business Administration degree is that it opens you up to many different career fields! Some examples include:

Business Consultant
Financial Analyst
Market Research Analyst
Business Manager
Entrepreneur

Essentially, there is a large variety of careers to chose from with a Business Admin. degree. In my opinion, it would be best to research these different positions and figure out which one is the most interesting to you. A good way to effectively research is to listen to the experiences of professionals who are currently practicing in these fields. You can utilize social media platforms to gather information (e.g., YouTube, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, etc) as many professionals share their experiences online.
