Rafael’s Answer
Choosing the best business career path depends on your interests, skills, and long-term goals. If you enjoy creativity and understanding consumer behavior, a career in marketing might be a good fit. If you have strong analytical skills and enjoy working with numbers, consider a career in finance. If you have a passion for innovation and building your own business, entrepreneurship might be the right path for you. If you have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with people, consider a career in human resources. If you have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, consider a career in operations management. It's important to research each path, gain practical experience, speak with professionals, and professors in the field. Ultimately, any decision you make regarding your business career path can be a good one!

Hi Mark,
You will want to think of the things that interest you and that you find enjoyable. If you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life! If you are entering college, you may consider completing your prerequisite courses before deciding on a major, that way you can be more sure of a direction. There are many aspects of business such as technology, leadership, project management, finances, research and development, project management, and many more. Take the time to research which area of business you would want to learn to develop in, and let that aid in your decision.

Choosing to study for an undergraduate degree in Business Administration opens up a wide array of fields for you, all based on what you find enjoyable.
- If you love interacting with people and promoting products or services, a degree in Marketing might be right up your alley.
- If your dream is to work in Wall Street firms, venture capitals, private equity, or similar, a Finance degree would be an ideal choice. To increase your chances of landing a great job, you might want to consider taking the three CFA exams.
- If you have a knack for numbers and find auditing interesting, an Accounting degree could be your calling. Passing the CPA exams can give your career a significant boost.
- Lastly, if you're interested in both business and software, a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) could be a perfect blend.
There are many other majors to explore, but the ones mentioned above can set you on a path to success and self-satisfaction, leading to a comfortable life.

Hello Mark,
Thanks for asking. In my opinion, there are more than just the standard options for business these days as computer programming has become important. I'd recommend learning a base business skill like accounting, finance or computer programming on top of any major you are going to take as a business major. It gives you a leg up in the job market.
Best of luck!
Regards,
Johan

I have been in the technology industry for (39) years. Right now, I believe the best jobs to go after are in computer science and in cyber security. We are just beginning the era of AI and it's going to take a lot of programmers to help develop not only AI, but the apps that provide it. ChatAI is just the tip of where this technology is going to go over your lifetimes.
Secondly, cyber security. This career has been around for a while, however the US has 600,000 job vacancies across the US currently. Globally, that number is in the millions. It's a great opportunity to start in this industry as a young professional and be to advance your career quickly in this dynamic field.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you give 100% of you effort towards those goals and don't forget to be your authentic self. You be You and the rest will follow. Wishing you all that a successful future can bring to your life!

I've been in the technology industry for about 10 years and I have a Bachelor of Arts degree. However, I was very thankful to have taken Economics and Corporate Finance courses. I think those courses give you a great depth of knowledge as to how businesses work and how the economy impacts them. Like other answers above, it also would be useful to take a computer science, coding, or cyber security courses as those roles are also in high demand. I think the world of business is transition to one of technology mixed with arts and strong financial planning, so any topics that covers those areas will give you a good sense if those career paths are appealing for you!

You should do what aligns best with your interests as there are so many great choices within the business field. Finance, accounting, marketing, supply chain management, business administration are all fields that have valuable things to learn in each of them. If you are a quantitative person and love working with numbers, finance, accounting or supply chain management may be your path. If you enjoy the mechanics of what makes a successful business and promoting business then marketing or business administration may be a great path.
