What should I do if I want to be an Art Director?
Currently, I am a sophomore in high school, and I'm not sure what to major in or how to go on in my high school career! To preface what i have so far...I have two years of TV production experience, and was the head of my schools prom commitee for traditional art. This upcoming year, I'll be historian for this organization that is involved with the city and for my class (ASB). Also, I'll be in my school's yearbook class for ADS and PR. This summer, I'll be taking a graphic design class at Otis college! Also, I'm not so sure what industry I want to work in yet, so I'm still trying to figure that out.

Wow, you are certainly accomplishing things at this time and it all sounds exciting and beneficial for your foundation in moving forward to become an Artistic Director ! You are in exactly the right location for Television and Film Art Direction. A friend went to California Institute for the Arts and had a rich career after graduation and was even Art Director on a very popular, long running TV series. It can be done and you already live at the center of the industry. Everything that you are doing now will be great experience as you advance into college.
In order to become an Art Director, you will need solid education in film which you can get in an academic setting or a film school. You can learn art direction that way. You can also take a Master Class on line from some of the industry's well knowns. There is a Master Class in Art Direction on their website for which I've left a link for you below. It's not free, however. Another link I have left explains what would be expected of a TV or Film Art Director. You can also explore the website Movie School Free. I didn't see any art direction courses but this may be an affordable way to learn about various aspects of film and television production. I've left the link below. The website Future Learn seems to have an interesting Production Design course, also.
Once you enroll in film school or college, it will quickly become clear to you what steps to take for your career interest. Keep being involved with television production, art and design until you graduate high school and compile a portfolio of your work on projects. I am advising you on this for film and television, but you really didn't mention exactly which type of art direction you're thinking of.
