Make the most of your summer by strengthening your math and physics skills and exploring programming with Python or JavaScript. Regular problem-solving and creating a small project like a robot, Arduino, or rocket can be fun and educational. Try learning basic CAD and tools like MATLAB for calculations and Simulink for simple simulations. Joining programs like Robotics For Youth can help you improve coding, robotics, and problem-solving skills through practical projects that link classroom learning to real-world engineering.
Focus on developing good study habits by solving problems regularly. Aim to understand how concepts work rather than just memorizing formulas. Work on your ability to tackle tough problems on your own, as consistency and persistence are key in engineering.

Before you start college, summer is a perfect time to mix a bit of prep with lots of relaxation and fun. You might want to look over any AP stuff from high school to make college classes easier, especially if you have similar courses coming up. But don't forget to enjoy your freedom! Hang out with friends and family, travel, try a new hobby, or just relax and recharge. The aim is to start college feeling confident, refreshed, and excited for what's ahead.
