How would it work to transfer my certification and everything?
I'm currently a 15 year old in high school in NYC. I want to go to a college out-of-state (Mass) but want to return to my home city and state when I finish and have my degree and certifications in teaching high school history/humanities.

New York State does not pre-approve credentials from other states. You would have to submit a full application and it would be evaluated at the time. It would be an evaluation of your education from the Massachusetts college and your experience teaching in another state, too. So it's not a matter of "transferring", it would be a matter of somehow being approved by the New York State Office of Teaching Initiatives thinking your Massachusetts study, credential and work meets the standards of the New York State system. And that would be at the time you apply.
That would be a six year stay at college out of state (Masters Degree level) and getting your teaching credential there, too, because you took the Massachusetts course of study.
The New York State application process consists of applying online, having fingerprints done, your official transcripts of all the colleges you've attended, and copies of all out of state certifications. The best way to find out the chances of being approved or how close a Massachusetts path would be to a New York path would be to call the Office of Teaching Initiative in New York and ask what the probability is. This is information you'll want to obtain directly from the New York end.
Discover all the exact information and do not give up. You may like Massachusetts and decide to stay there longer than your six years in college.
