Mike Gosma

Hello! I am currently serving as a Manager for Public Safety Operations and Strategy for Verizon Business Group, and also in a part-time capacity as a senior leader in the Air National Guard. Prior to my active duty separation I served in VA, where I was responsible for ensuring the readiness of more than 670 airmen across 17 Air Force specialties in the execution of federal and state missions, delivering combat-focused maintenance to the F-22 Raptor mission. It was by far the most exciting and dynamic assignment of my military career.

I am a 2001 graduate of the US Air Force Academy. In between graduation and Undergraduate Pilot Training, I met my now-wife of 19+ years. Following graduation from UPT in TX, I was selected as a First Assignment Instructor Pilot to teach pilot training in GA. My wife and I were married in between these assignments and were able to be stationed together. During this period, I was part of the initial training of over 700 student pilots. In 2007, my wife separated from service and went back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner, and I was assigned to SC where our two daughters were born. In 2011, I was reassigned to FL where our son was born in 2013.

In 2014, I transitioned to the Air National Guard and served in several different capacities and roles in FL and then VA. I separated from active duty with more than 2,300 hours in fighter and trainer aircraft and am a veteran of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, and NOBLE EAGLE. Our very blessed family of 5 recently relocated to Wilmington, NC, and I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of your journey as you begin your story!
