One of the biggest challenges I faced in my professional journey was transitioning from a general IT support role to a specialized IT asset management position. This shift required me to develop a deeper understanding of inventory control, asset tracking systems, and the specific technical requirements of managing enterprise IT assets. How I overcome it. Continuous Learning: I enrolled in relevant courses and certifications, such as IT asset management and ITSM systems, to build my knowledge and skills. This included obtaining certifications like AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials and Technical Support Fundamentals. In layperson terms, what do you actually do at work?

When someone has an issue with their computer, like it’s not working right or they can’t access something, I figure out what’s wrong and fix it. I also take care of all the computers and tech equipment in your workplace, making sure everything is working properly and up to date. This includes setting up new computers, installing software, and keeping track of all the tech stuff to make sure nothing gets lost or broken.

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?

One piece of career advice I wish someone had given me when I was younger is to embrace continuous learning and adaptability. The tech industry evolves rapidly, and staying current with new technologies, tools, and best practices is crucial. If I had known the importance of continuously updating my skills and being open to change, I might have pursued more certifications and learning opportunities earlier in my career.
