Hello, Samantha !

I can't tell you your chances of receiving scholarships, however two on line Masters Degree programs for counseling are offered by (NYU) New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. The other one is offered from Catawba College. You may easily find out details of these colleges and their online programs by reading their websites. Both are very high ranking colleges with very good reputations. Another University that offers on line Masters degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is William and Mary School of Education.

Some other colleges that offer On Line Masters for Counseling are : Concordia University in Irvine, CA, Crown College in Saint Bonifacius, MN,
California Baptist University in Riverside, CA, Concordia University in Mequon, WI, Webster University in St. Louis, MO, Eastern University in St. Davids, PA, LeTourneau in Longview, TX, Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA, and Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. Everything you would need to know about tuition costs, requirements and courses can be found on their websites.

It is never guaranteed or "easy" to obtain scholarships, one must work at it. It will take a lot of research on your part, reading websites, applying for many- not just a few. Cover a lot of ground and apply to any at the school you choose as well as outside scholarships. The reason no one can tell you the easy chances of getting a scholarship is because the scholarship applications are evaluated and select applicants are chosen. You can work on your qualifications now to have a strong scholarship application. If you would like financial assistance for a Masters degree, the time doing this is well spent.

Your application for most scholarships will be screened for long term activity in a group or club, demonstrated skill through employment or volunteer work, any leadership roles you have had. A high GPA is a great benefit, too, so strive for the best grades now (you didn't mention if you are in college already or in high school). These are just some things that will help your chances of getting a scholarship but the most important thing is to cover a lot of ground for as many scholarships as possible. Research where these scholarships are by doing searches on line.

I hope that this was a help and I wish you all the best !

Samantha, I believe pursuing an online Master's in Counseling offers commendable flexibility, and here are some recommendations for accredited schools with potential scholarship opportunities that I think would be most useful for you:

1. Walden University is celebrated for its online counseling programs. They offer accredited Master of Science degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling, recognized by CACREP.

2. Capella University is known for its superior quality of online education. They provide an accredited Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, along with various scholarship opportunities.

3. The University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education provides an accredited online Master of Education in School Counseling, maintaining the same high standards as their on-campus programs.

4. Northwestern University offers an online Master of Arts in Counseling. This program combines online coursework with in-person clinical training and is accredited by CACREP.

5. The University of the Cumberlands provides an accredited online Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. They offer a variety of scholarships for qualifying students.

To explore scholarship opportunities, you should visit each institution's financial aid office and look into external programs related to counseling. Speaking directly with admissions offices can offer insights into specific scholarship options. This ensures that your choice of an accredited institution meets the highest academic standards. Pursuing scholarships can also make your educational journey more financially manageable. Wishing you all the best in your quest for advanced education in counseling.

I'm not sure about scholarships, although some connection help in the professional world, and maybe some financial help, are given at a school I think has excellent chances of being very helpful for their degree earners. It's The Townsend Institute (https://www.cui.edu/townsend). You can check it out and compare it to what other programs advertise. It's supposed to be on the more affordable side in general so maybe you would be less concerned about scholarships.

Hi Samantha,

Here's a friendly guide to some top-notch schools offering online Master's programs in Counseling. These institutions are well-respected and offer quality education, often with scholarship opportunities to help students financially. Let's take a look:

1. University of Southern California: USC's Rossier School of Education offers an online Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling. This program, accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), prepares students to become school counselors. USC also offers various scholarships, such as the USC Rossier Scholarship, awarded based on merit.

2. Northwestern University: Northwestern provides an online Master of Arts in Counseling program through its School of Education and Social Policy. This program, focusing on clinical mental health counseling and accredited by CACREP, comes with financial aid options like scholarships and grants.

3. University of Missouri: This university offers an online Master of Education in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology through its College of Education. Students can specialize in mental health practices or school counseling. Scholarships and assistantships are available for eligible students.

4. Wake Forest University: Wake Forest's Department of Counseling offers an online Master of Arts in Counseling program. This program, focusing on clinical mental health counseling and accredited by CACREP, comes with financial aid options like scholarships and graduate assistantships.

5. University of Massachusetts Boston: UMass Boston's College of Education and Human Development offers an online Master of Education in School Counseling program. Scholarships and assistantships are available to help offset tuition costs.

Remember, scholarship availability can change, so it's best to reach out to these institutions directly for the latest info on financial aid.

I used three key resources for this information:

1. CACREP: They accredit graduate-level programs in counseling and related fields, ensuring high-quality and effective education.

2. University websites: These provide detailed, up-to-date information about online counseling programs, accreditation, and scholarships.

3. U.S. News & World Report: This publication ranks universities and programs based on various factors, helping evaluate the reputation and quality of different institutions.

While these sources are reliable, it's always best to verify details directly with the universities or accrediting bodies.

Also, don't forget to check out my autobiography in the 'About James Constantine' section. It has some great tips on foods that boost mental and nervous function and improve academic performance.

May your efforts be abundantly blessed!
James Constantine.
