How can I turn solid Russian skills into a real advantage in global security or military careers?
I’m a junior at UW-Madison focusing on Global Security and Russian. I want to use the language practically in a future career in national security. What experiences or extra steps (beyond classes) actually made Russian a game-changer for people in security, policy, or military roles?
How do so many defense attorneys sleep at night and go on about their lives normally knowing that they are defending people who have committed horrible crimes ?
I am a 12th grader going on to be an attorney after college. I struggle with picking if I want to be a defense attorney or a prosecutor. I care greatly about mental health issues and including them in our legal system without a stigma. I am a huge advocate on ending gun violence in our schools.
What is something most people trying to enter the field of national security may not know about?
Hello! As a college freshman, I have always wanted to work in national defense and I am eager to enter the field, but I am not sure how to do so, especially now that many government internships have been suspended indefinitely. I am majoring in international relations with an Arabic and in the meantime, I want to build my resume and experience in other ways to show that I am still interested in this area of work. A large problem in our country is the amount of undocumented persons within its borders. How can I develop Software to make the process of deportation more effective for the ICE. While President Trump has seeked to finish this goal, I fear that without the proper software and monitoring devices on his Southern border wall, it will be widely ineffective.
