I'm an incoming college freshman planning on majoring in accounting, and I was wondering what information or sources are used to prepare for interviews for internships or work?

I'm an incoming freshman at USC and I'm eager to get a head start by joining clubs or programs that can help me gain overall exposure in the field I plan on studying in (accounting) during the first semester and other related skills needed for the world of finance.

I intend to pursue a career in finance after college but I am unsure about what I should look for and what skills I need to bring to the table. I want to make sure that I am the most prepared I can be when I enter the workforce and I’m hoping specifically to go into investment banking.

I want to know what steps I have to take and what would be the best route for me to becoming a certified public accountant, and also the benefits to this career.

I understand that AI in businesses is on the rise, especially in jobs that focus on numbers - like accounting. I have had several people, including my father, tell me to be cautious about continuing in my current field of study. Are these fears warranted?
