About

I'm a native San Franciscan that lives and works here. I even went to and graduated from SF State! My degree is in Finance, but I currently work at PagerDuty as a Customer Success Manager. What that means is I basically make sure our customers are getting what they pay for, which can mean a lot of things. I meet with customers to learn their needs, understand their feedback, and take that back to our product teams to make sure we're building tools that our customers love. On a personal note, I love cooking, eating, and as a former bartender of 7 years, I love making and trying new cocktails. Ask me about my love for Nic Cage.

Nick’s Career Stories

What is it like when your job gets tough?

Just like anything, my job isn't always sunshine and rainbows. There can be a lot of pressure to fix things or help a customer, but sometimes I don't even know where to start. The great thing about where I work, PagerDuty, is we're a very strong team. When I feel lost, I can ask for help and someone out of our 700+ employees will not only know the answer, but help me understand that answer as well. It's a really supportive environment.

What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?

Someone told me that being adaptable is one of the strongest career skills you can have. That makes a lot of sense in today's work environment, especially in the tech or software. Things move fast, and you could find yourself starting at a company in one department and making a shift to a completely different and somewhat unrelated department. The ability to learn as much as you can not just at your main role, but at the company as a whole, will help you be adaptable and move from department to department, job to job, and career to career.
