How can I make sure that I obtain my goal of working remotely as an actuary, all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance?

I am a freshman studying at Penn State Main Campus. My intended major is actuarial science, and I love it so far! My favorite class is calculus, and my favorite pastime is being in nature. I am interested in remote work, but I know how easy it is to let work slip into home life and free time. I am looking for tips on how to maintain a healthy work-life balance, so that I can manage having a job I love and doing the things I love.

What would you say is an unconventional/untraditional but important skill that is helpful to have for someone interested in becoming an actuary or in a business-related field? It could be for during interviews or in the job setting. #Spring26

I am currently a high school senior, about to major in actuarial science in the fall. I think this question is a fun question to ask to understand a work environment a little bit more.

How can I grow in Actuarial Fields ?

I'm Azim, Actuarial Science student at UiTM Shah Alam, Malaysia. Im expecting to finish my studies in Feb 2028. I know there are a few paths I can opt for such as IFoA and SOA. However, I reckon it is quite expensive to sit for the papers (idk if there are any financial aids or not). My question is, is sitting for professional papers is the only way of climbing my career ladders or i still can excel in the field without collecting the papers. if i still need to collect the papers, can you recommend any good plans on how to collect it (collect it right away or establish myself in the field first) thank you in advance for the answers! ✨️
