Paul A’s Career Stories
What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?
I didn't get anything memorable. My career was mostly fire, ready aim. I graduated from college at age 29. Eventually I figured out I was better suited to be self employed, That was a painful roller coaster ride. It provided a number of highs and some extremes lows. My commitment to personal growth and self honesty allowed me to be more proactive, bolder and creative as I expanded my number of skill sets both personally and professionally. So my advice is to realize life is a journey not a destination. Realize that your education may open a door but everything you want in your life is on the other side of your present belief system or B.S Job security is a trap and a "life style" is way different then "a life that works". I've made at least five major career moves in my decades of work experience. Some of them weren't pretty. I've been blessed to have the courage and personal integrity to choose being free as a higher intention then having a perfect career. This story may only resonate with one person. The caterpillar has to die for the butterfly to be born is more then a just a bunch of words. I am a butterfly! Do your best and bless the rest!
