In layperson terms, what do you actually do at work?
I work as a Human Resources Manager at a global company. At work, I help managers who oversee teams of people, staff their organizations by hiring new people and assess the costs of hiring those people. I help with performance challenges: when people are not doing well in a role, what can we do about it? I talk to people about "getting to the next level" and how they can progress their careers. I also help managers make changes to their organizations: different reporting lines, creating new roles, eliminating roles no longer needed, promoting people to new roles, and more.
