Context: I currently work as a Career Advisor with a private college and have been in workforce development for the past five years, one and half with education 3 with the government sector. I plan to transition and utilize my skills from workforce development into business development and/or contracts. Part of my job currently is to network with business owners or managers and build relationships with these individuals to help students/graduates find employment with their respective companies. Through the process, I have seen a breakdown and loss of certain business etiquette that I have excelled in. I have facilitated proper communication etiquette as well as creating resumes and providing instruction on how to properly send business emails. I have an exceptional eye for information and perform monthly audits before sending results to corporate. With the skills and tools I have learned, I would like to take it to the next level and either instruct individuals on proper business etiquette or work in contracts to ensure they are accurate.
College: I am currently attending Independence University, online, and am expected to finish September of 2018 with my MBA. Prior to enrolling at Independence, I graduated from CSU, Chico with a Bachelor degree in Sociology.

Activities: I currently attend Chamber networking events for various topics such as Emerging Leaders and New Member Orientations.
Job Experience: I have five years experience in workforce development with another 3 years of experience working in sales. With my MBA, I plan to transition into business development and am currently looking at a few companies in regards to their business internship or business development programs for those that are currently enrolled or completed their MBA.
Soft Skills: Time Management and Professional Communication are my top soft skills as both are required for the work I do. I excel in working as a team member and believe that being able to conduct work independently and as a team is vital in ensuring that the work is as best as can be. Critical Thinking and Attentive Listening are also skills that I have great experience in and being able to make difficult decisions on the spot.
Hard Skills: I rate myself as intermediate in being able to speak, read and write Spanish. I am familiar with DocuSign and CalJOBS systems and currently hold a certification for Microsoft Office Specialist 2016 in word. I currently type 100-WPM and have experience utilizing Godaddy.com website builder to maintain my former employers website. I do have minimal management experience supervising employees as well as on-boarding.
