Junior Data Engineer vs Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer — which is a better entry path for me?
Hello everyone, I’m seeking guidance on choosing the right entry-level data career path. I want to understand whether preparing for junior Data Engineer roles would be a better option for me compared to Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer roles, especially in terms of getting an entry-level/junior role more easily. My background: B.Sc. in Electronics and communications (graduated in 2020) Volunteered full-time at a non-profit organization since 2021 Last 2 years: managing events, handling emails, and maintaining Excel spreadsheets (tracking data, coordination, reporting) I currently have a career gap in terms of formal industry roles and want to transition into the data field. I’m open to learning required technical skills and building projects. My questions: Is aiming for a junior Data Engineer role more realistic than Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer roles for someone with my background? Which role has a lower entry barrier for freshers or career switchers? What learning path would you recommend based on my experience? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
How can I prepare and strategize to land an internship in Analytics Engineering?
I’m trying to break into Analytics Engineering and would appreciate guidance. I have a 5-year educational gap, but during that time I worked in a non-profit organization. Now I want to transition into this field and I’m aiming for at least an internship to start. What should I focus on learning , and what strategies/projects would help me stand out despite my gap? Any tips on building a portfolio or presenting myself better to recruiters would mean a lot.

Best IT certs for someone from non-tech background with a 4-year gap ? I’m from a non-technical background and I’ve got about a 4-year education gap. Any beginner-friendly certs or career paths you’d recommend for someone like me? I’m ready to put in the work, just need some solid direction. Thanks in advance!

How can I switch my career?
"Hello! I'm a 24-year-old soon-to-be graduate from Law College, and I'm considering a career transition into the tech industry, specifically as a Data Analyst or Cloud Data Engineer. I currently reside in a tier 2 city and have been contemplating a move to tech-centric cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Pune for better exposure in this field. My plan is to enroll in 3 to 6 months of online courses to gain the necessary skills. Now, I'm faced with a decision: should I stay at home and take the online courses or should I move to one of the bigger cities and support myself financially by taking up part-time work while studying online? I'm seeking guidance on which option would be more beneficial for my career transition. Thank you!"
