Christopher’s Career Stories
How did you pick your career? Did you know all along?
Take a minute to read my story, which can be inspirational and lead the way to others embarking on an adventurous journey to find out their career calling. There was one vivid moment when I just recognized that architecture was to be my true calling. This was a merging of my passion for sketching that I have always had and an unmistakable interest in buildings. When I was a teenager, I would spend hours with my sketchbook in hand, looking and sketching out the details of a building that I fancied. The lines, the shapes, the play of light and shadow—it all seemed like magic to me. But no, it was not drawing for the sake of it; it was trying to grasp how it all turned out into those beautiful standings. To me, architecture is some kind of difficult game in which I can mix artistry with practicality so that I can make the places deeply touching to one's life. And it was at those moments of thinking about the design challenge that I realized, more than a hobby, this was my passion, my purpose. My training in architecture has been a non-stop learning adventure. I grabbed at each learning opportunity in the shape of study, working on projects, and indulging in associations with mentors who shared my enthusiasm. I jumped headlong into design studios, of course, with the mentality that creativity had no bounds, and attention to detail can turn a concept into a masterpiece. During my entire career, I learned from legends in architectural firms and from the great building architects who taught me that in this field, one's best friends are innovation and imagination. One key lesson I've learned is that the discovery process of your career path is not always a straight one. It's okay to take up different interests, take turns, or also possibly struggle with something. Each experience, in one way or another, fits like a stepping stone into the making of a professional you are meant to become. And here I am today writing to you, not as an architect, but as someone who has found his passion and purpose in the world of design. I only hope that you, too, will find that which truly sets your spirit on fire and propels you forward. Whether it's architecture or any other field, remember that your unique combination of interests, skills, and experiences is your greatest asset. As you embark on this incredible journey of self-discovery, never stop asking questions, never stop learning, and never stop dreaming. Your career path might surprise you, but with dedication and passion, you'll find your way to a fulfilling and impactful future. So, keep exploring, keep creating, and let your journey unfold with the same wonder and excitement that led you to this moment. I hope this inspires and encourages those who are seeking their career paths!
