About

I have been teaching at the university level for the past 19 years. I teach English, Literature-related classes, Critical Thinking, Communications, and other related classes. Teaching is a passion for me because I have the opportunity to make a positive impact with individuals on a daily basis. I am an outgoing, interpersonal type of instructor at the university level. Undergraduate and graduate students have praised my work and teaching for being communicative, resourceful, and helpful for their futures.

My prior experience includes being a journalist for the New York Post from 1985 to 1993. I was fortunate enough to interview Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, and Mickey Mantle while reporting and writing at The Post. I also wrote daily and weekly columns. This led to a high profile editor's position at a major publishing firm in Los Angeles, where I was in charge of overseeing reporters, editors, and photographers from around the country, including high profile writers at The New York Times. I was editor for magazines on the O.J. Simpson trial, a profile of Mickey Mantle, and many other magazines.

This led to a fun and productive position with the Upper Deck Company where I was Product Development Manager for 8.5 years. This "left turn" in my career, as I like to call it, allowed me to see a different side of business and still freelance write at the same time. In these 8.5 years I oversaw and was a creative lead behind numerous sports memorabilia and trading card related projects.

Ultimately, teaching was the longest and most rewarding role in my career. I have been teaching since 2003 and I plan to finish my career helping students learn and grow personally and professionally.
