About

Hello!
My name is Anne and I am a Master of Social Work Resident in Clinical Social Work (LCSW-S) in outpatient therapy. I’m currently working towards my LCSW and Registered Play Therapist Certifications. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA.) I am currently a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Group at my agency and work to provide education and outreach to employees, clients, and community members.

I see both mental health and substance use clients in both an individual and group community setting. I am skilled in substance use prevention and disorders, early childhood interventions, geriatric rehabilitation, adolescent care, and social media.

Anne’s Career Stories

How did you pick your career? Did you know all along?

My whole entire life I always thought I wanted to teach English. I was so excited to begin student teaching...until I started. I realized very quickly that it wasn't for me. I met my friend Emma when we were both RAs in school. Emma's family had two adopted children who were from the foster care system. After meeting and learning from them, I saw how broken our system is and was instantly inspired to work on changing it. I switched my major to social work and quickly found I could do more with my masters. I realized the feeling I had felt my whole life wasn't teaching people, it was helping people. If I hadn't met Emma, even when I was in the wrong major, I would have never been inspired to change.

What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?

Know your worth and demand twice as much for it. (a drag queen told me this!)
