I provide IT support to all users in the organization, including software and hardware support.

How did you start building your network?

I began working for private clients. I joined LinkedIn for professional networking. I socialized myself on Facebook. I learned social media tools to engage with the communities.

How did you pick your career? Did you know all along?

I didn't have any particular career advice, but I got lucky and landed my first IT job in 2001. From there, I gradually grew my skills and knowledge by learning new tools and technologies, like Microsoft Certification, CompTIA Certification, Linux, Cisco, and more.

Did anyone ever oppose your career plans when you were young or push you in a direction you did not want to go?

In 2008, I got a job with an international company based in Jordan. I was given a leading role in technical support, and for the first time in my life, I flew to another country on a company ticket. It sounds crazy but it was worthwhile.

What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?

I am still learning, and my experience has taught me that it is important to have the same academic qualifications as the job you are applying for.

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?
