What is advice you would give someone entering their first year of college in engineering ?

I am pursuing a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and was curious on what someone would recommend to be successful. What are some good resources, or general tips that you wish you received when you were a student?

As an incoming college freshman, how can I best learn to manage my time with all the new things college will bring… classes, work study, homework, time with friends, training my service dog, downtime? #Spring26

I’ll be coming from a small high school for kids with learning differences. We have very low student-teacher ratios and a lot of support and accommodations. As I’m entering a large 4-year university, I wonder if there is advice on how to best manage my time and feel supported and thrive. Thank you.

What are study habits that you have used for your difficult classes?

I'm going into my freshman year and have not had to study very much for my highschool classes. I want to build good habits early to succeed later down the line. #Spring26

Would you say Ivy League education is overrated, especially if you're pursuing engineering as a career? #Fall25

I'm trying to build up my college application list and am debating whether certain Ivys are worth my time.

What motivates people to continue pursuing engineering despite the difficult coursework and career ahead in the future?

I'm currently in my sophomore year of civil engineering, and I'm feeling burnt out. How do people deal with this feeling, and what mindset can help me push through?
