How did you decide which type of accounting was right for you?

What are the absolute best steps during college to help secure a job offer by college graduation?
I will be a freshman in college in the fall of 2026. I plan to complete my bachelors and my graduate degree within a five year program for accounting and finance. I’ve always been good at all types of math but I wanted to focus on math with more daily “real world” applications. I also wanted a good paying job so I can comfortably take care of myself as an adult.
Why are so many CPA's not actively using their license after spending all the effort to acquire it? #Spring25
It poses a serious question of whether accounting is still a valid career in 2025. To acquire a CPA license and not use it would just tarnish its name, would it not? #Spring25

How do you get started in the accounting and auditing field?
Wanting to be an accountant or auditor at some point, but not entirely sure what steps I should take to meet the quota or exceed it in regards to a secondary education.
How is an auditing career different from what students will learn about in school?
I am an Accountancy & Finance student graduating this May. I was in a short internship in external auditing and it was an experience totally different from what I envisioned while still schooling.
