Did anyone ever oppose your career plans when you were young or push you in a direction you did not want to go?

i first started up working at my dad's office for quite a long time and i had a very great deal of knowledge in how the complete operation works and as per what my dad wanted was to carry on his business further with my brother and expand it. in the beginning, I felt that it would be quite easy to handle the business but as and when time passed on, i got to know how difficult it has become for me to perform at my fullest. there were many opportunities available for me but with what i used to get with respect to the respect, the feedback from my brother, the work load and importance of the business, it became quite difficult for e to carry on the operations so i said my dad that i cannot do it anymore. i was in my college when all of this used to happen but in my last year when we had our college placement i just tried up for an interview in Dell and out of surprise i got selected. i was really happy to get selected in such a big MNC ( Multi National Company ) and i couldn't control my emotions and when i said this to my family they were very happy but when they got to know about the shift, they were disappointed. the reason for their disappointment was that no one till now has ever worked in that shift in our community and also concerned about what an impression will i have in front of my society when they get to know that i work in this shift and all the other things. Well for me there were many people who opposed me to do the job which i liked. There were many restriction for taking up the job which i am doing up right now. It was basically going against the common norms of my community But my dad understood me and allowed me to work in this shift and for the post which i have and allowed me to work there. He said that work as long as you are comfortable Basically this is my first job and i am really happy that i got a job in a sector which is well not directly but indirectly related to my fields of interest i.e. Customer Satisfaction. It is not easy to satisfy a customer as it involves a lot of efforts in understanding them, their requirements, their expectation versus reality and many more. basically for me the biggest challenge was the shift timings which none of my family members were ready for and in the start even i was a little hesitant to go for the job which i am doing right now as the complete routine changes, your work hours changes, your diet and eating habit's changes which in turn affects your health but one thing i learned that if you really like the job which you are doing then these factors are just like a side dish when compared to the main course. it is important to balance both your personal life with the professional life and it is really not that easy as how it is in saying it. there are various pressure which you will have to face and it won;t be easy. listening to all those comments when you meet up your relatives, friends and at times even your family, its not easy. But all these things are never gonna hurt you until and unless you are enjoying the job which you have taken and rest everything will fall in its own place. there is one thing which you will learn that there will be many people to criticize you, you just have to keep their mouth shut with your performance and success.
