When you were a student, did you do anything outside of school to build skills or get knowledge that has helped your career?
As a dancer (modern, jazz, and ballroom) I learned to watch others with the intent to emulate (i.e. copy) their movements. This ‘watch and do’ skill has helped me in business to adapt to the company culture. If I admire how someone handled a situation, for example, I mentally note what they did then I try to use the learning the next time I’m in a comparable situation. The ability to learn from one situation and use it in another is a valuable skill.
