About

I am someone who loves to see other people succeed when it comes to their career or personal goals that they have set aside for themselves. When a person is unsure about what direction to take career or academic wise, I would like to be there to help them out with any problems they maybe facing.

I rather see a person succeed at something they love and have a passion for than seeing them fail and struggle at something they hate.

Brittany’s Career Stories

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?

The one piece of career advice I wish someone gave me when I was younger, would have been to do what doesn't feel like a job to you. Instead of trying to go for what you want to do in life, let what you need to do in life come to you. In other words, don't choose your career. Let your career choose you. There are many times in life that we think we know what we want to do for a career until we realize that its not really what we want to do. I thought that I wanted to become a public relations specialist, but I never really had the yearning to actual pursue it. My peers told me to look into becoming a Academic Advisor because they knew I was good at giving personal career and academic advice to them. This is what I mean by my career chose me. I never knew I had a passion for helping people reach their goals until helped my peers and realized that I was good at it naturally. I know that this career will not feel like a job to me because it is something that I don't see as being job or work. I knew if I pursued Public relations it would have felt more like a job because I wasn't really passionate about it. Don't choose your career, find hidden things that you love doing about yourself and let those hidden aspects of your life, choose your career for you. I promise you wont regret it.
