Can getting a major and minor in the same field increase chances of working in that field?
I will be a freshman at collage in fall of 26 and my major is Nuclear Engineering. I want to work in power plants, so I was planning to have my minor be in the same field, like mechanical or environmental. Is it worth it and will it help me get into the field after collage?
How do I begin a career as someone interested in protecting water bodies in my community from pollution?
This polution is as a result of illegal mining activities. Graduate civil engineer with interest in environmental engineering and sustainable development.
What college should I commit to ?
My options are: Santa Clara University (civil engineering), Loyola Marymount (civil engineering), UCSC (electrical engineering), CU Boulder (environmental engineering), CSU Fullerton (electrical engineering), and CSU Long Beach (environmental engineering). I want to go into environmental technology long-term and have whichever program I do now prepare me well for a masters program. I would appreciate some input!

So far I know that Environmental Engineering majors can become Energy engineers, Environmental scientists, and solar energy specialists. I would like to know more in depth descriptions of possible career paths that are associated with a degree in Environmental Engineering.
