What steps can I take during flight training to make myself a strong candidate for an airline pilot career in the future?
I’m 22 and preparing to begin full-time flight training this summer with the goal of becoming a professional airline pilot. I have already completed my FAA First Class Medical and a discovery flight, and I’m planning to attend a structured flight training program. I’m highly motivated and ready to put in the work, but I’m still at the very beginning of this path and would appreciate advice on how to make the most of my training and stand out as I progress.
For airline pilots, what was the most difficult transition between flight training and your first professional flying job, and what do you wish you had done differently during college/flight school to prepare for it?
I’m an incoming freshman at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University pursuing a degree in Aeronautical Science (Flight), and I plan to become a commercial airline pilot.
What degree shall I pursue that will allow me a career in aviation possible piloting? Should I apply for mechanical engineering or other options available? Please let me know what your opinion would be. I really like to build things, but I also wanna fly.
I’m a high school student and my goal in life is definitely to fly. I really enjoyed building things as well. My GPS is 4.0 I’m very diligent about my school work and math is my favorite subject. I like to travel and visited 40 of the 63 National parks in the US. This is when I developed my love for flight.
What is the fastest, most cost effective way to land a job at a commercial airline?
I am a Naval Aircrewman in the reserves and I am currently planning on doing two years at a community college for a Pro Pilot AAS, then transferring to a four year for my bachelors.
Is there any advice you would give me as I attend Walla Wall University in their aviation program?
I'm attending Wallla Walla University this fall in the aviation program.
