About
Samuel McGee III is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he obtained a BFA in Film 1984. While working for Milwaukee Public Schools (1990-1993) he helped write, shoot and produce a :30 second commercial for Fritsche Middle School.
The driving force behind this production was a group of 6th graders, strong visionaries. Out of 240 submitted scripts, they placed in the top 12 and had their commercial aired nationally.
After moving to the Dallas, TX area in 1996 Samuel’s career took off. He was hired by Panavision as a Camera Tech. Working on such iconic productions as Texas Walker Ranger, Lonesome Dove and Any Given Sunday was an awesome way to gain knowledge and experience. Samuel was also a Director of Photography on an independent film called: ‘El Greco and the Love of Coffee’, which generated interest in TX and on the East Coast. ABC Sports, ESPN {1, 2, & 3} NBC Sports has kept Samuel busy for over 26 years. Monday Night football, NASCAR {racing in the pitstop area}, TX college football games and other film or video productions has been fun.
But now it’s time to set forth another group of film and photography minded students. Teach them from the ground up on how to be great visionaries and hard workers in all types of conditions. This is what brings Samuel to Carmen High School of Science and Technology.
