How to make it through college with no support from anyone?

I know people (one of my classmates ) who always comes to talk to me about how no one in his immediate family went to college so why should he? He’s a very bright boy the only thing I can think to tell him is you don’t want all that intelligence to go to waste you need to put it to use #giving-advice #college-advice #college #counseling

Does the highschool you go to matter in the end?

I am moving to a new house and have the option of staying at the same school I have gone to for two years but I also have the chance of getting to change to go to a different school. The school I currently go to does not give me the option of taking the AP classes I want for my junior year which has been stressing me out. The new school might give me the opportunity to do so, but it isn't as great a school as the one I attended before. My friend recommended to check out the new school and another friend told me about this school that is about 15 minutes away from my house that is overall amazing. What should I do? #teaching #school #high-school #help #counseling #giving-advice

I'm currently an International Affairs major and have finished a few classes toward it. I want to pursue a career in teaching English as a Second Language, but am also curious about what types of opportunities having a degree in International Affairs will bring me? I'm also curious on what the best thing I could do to better myself in a career in International Affairs. #college #career #major #career-advice #international-affairs #giving-advice

Should I Go for a Career that Pays Well or One that I Love?

I grew up in a house where money was always tight and we always depended on someone for financial help. I want to be an artist but I'm scared that I'll be in the same situation forever where I am never secure in my finances. On the other hand, I don't want to be stuck in a job that isn't enjoyable for me. Please just give me some advice. #money #career-choice #career-advice #career-plan #giving-advice

Should i try different jobs that are completely unrelated to my degree or go and find one that i really wanted?

So, i just recently moved here in states and i'm a fresh graduate with a degree in Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations. I was blessed to moved here right after grad but unfortunately, i haven't been into the real world of advertising. I'm finding it hard to find a job that is an entry level and is completely related to my field. Many people here told me to find a job first which is not related to advertising, i did that. I had two part-time jobs (retail sales associate and bookseller) just to gain experience and additional skills, now that i am both endo (unemployed) to the said jobs, i am so desperate to set my footsteps on advertising door. I am sending my resumes to different agencies but i know i lack the experience which makes it hard for me to get employed. I'm kinda feeling down now and depressed. Can someone give me an advice on what should i do? I feel like i'm a burden to my family because of unemployment :( #help #advice #advertising #giving-advice #depression #seattle #personal-development #marketing-and-advertising #career-details
