How can I mentally be okay during training?
Back in 2024 I lost my gymnastics coach to suicide and then gymnastics just got harder. My mental state at the time was not good because I had just moved to a new house and I was going to switch schools in the upcoming year. I was leaving all of my friends and the only person who helped me through it was my coach. My mental state is much better after going to therapy for a while. But sometimes I just cry at gymnastics because I can't forget about my coach. Any ideas to keep her with me as a good thing and not cry during practice?
What should someone keep in mind when planning a transfer to a school across the country?
I'm going to transfer to a college on the West Coast next fall. I currently live on the East Coast. Aside from finances and homesickness what are some other things to keep in mind as I relocate there for school? I would be living in the dorm and there is local public transportation at the school.
What are some ways you stay involved creatively on campus ?
I’m moving to North Carolina to attend Haywood Community College for the spring semester. I’ll be new to the state and the campus, but I want to find musical opportunities to stay involved in.
How hard would it be to move away for college, and then move back to my hometown after I graduate (on my own, not with my parents)?
I am currently in Washington State (Seattle area) and am thinking of going away to California for college. I really like where I live however, and there are a lot of good paying opportunities for what I want to do around here (computer science/software engineer). I think going away for four years would be a good idea because otherwise my parents might still want to always watch over me, and it would give me a good chance to be fully on my own and give me that experience.
