What are some of the biggest pieces of advice you could give for incoming freshmen?

I'm 14 and I'm going to be in 9th grade, I am very nervous because I'm not sure what to expect. Is it really as bad as people say it is? I've heard some people say they loved it and some people say they hated it.

Doubling up on science classes?

Hello, I am an upcoming freshmen and I am making my schedule. There is a Honor's Organic Chemistry course that is only offered the first term at my school and I would benefit from taking it. Can a student recover from failing a college class?

How many classes can a student fail before they are not able to succeed? Can a student recover from a few failed classes after retaking them and getting a better grade? What happens when you take a class that cannot be retaken because it is above 3000, but you need it to succeed? Can I still make a 3.5-4.0 GPA with failed classes that have been retaken? These are the questions I have as a student who went through failing a couple of classes because of being stressed my first semester and now trying to make up for it. I have never failed classes before until University and have been an almost straight A student all through HS and community college. Now I'm struggling. I need reassurance of whether I can make it through college and make the good grades and high GPA I want, but with full honesty. #college #grades #gpa #classes #failure #help #mental-health #recover #recovery #student #student-development #freshmen #sophomore #class #stress #stress-management #university

How likely is it I will get an internship as a first year student?

I am a first year, undeclared student and I am looking for internship opportunities for the summer. I live in an area where there are many opportunities for internships but that means many students travel to the area in order to apply. I a specifically looking for internship opportunities in nonprofit and advocacy groups. I assumed I would be able to get an internship but after talking to some students slightly older than I am I learned that companies tend not to hire students unless they are juniors or seniors in college. #internships #nonprofits #freshmen #advocacy

What are some college dorm room must haves?

I'm starting school in the fall and just wanted to know some things necessary for a comfortable dorm life. There aren't any communal bathrooms so I shouldn't worry about buying a bath kit, unless I should. I'm a little overwhelmed and I do not want to over shop or under shop for dorm necessities. #college #college-life #freshmen

How often do college students get to go back home?

I know there are breaks during semesters, but I've also heard there's "dead time" in between those breaks as well. I am going 4 hours away from my home and I have people that I want to see more often than on holidays. Do I just have to wait until breaks or will there be a time that I can go home for a weekend? #college #freshmen #moving #visiting
