In layperson terms, what do you actually do at work?

As a community engagement lead, I help drive positive change in our world, by leading volunteer opportunities that promote good will and increase employee engagement throughout the United States.

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?

While I think it is important to have a plan in place and understand what your career goals are, I wish someone would have told me, "it's okay if you're undecided and you don't have to choose your lifelong career right now." Through my personal journey, I've met wonderful mentors and people who led me to the career I'm in today. Keep an open mind and look for opportunities you may not have even considered. The possibilities are endless!

How did you start building your network?

I started building my network by volunteering for opportunities that weren't necessarily part of my job description. When you step-up to volunteer, you meet more people and also learn about what's happening outside of your own team. Volunteering outside of your usual network of people can also expose you to more resources and opportunities so you can let others know what your career goals are.
