As a high school student interested in politics, history, geography, city government, etc. What could be a good major/career path for me?
I am not really sure what major I want to go into for college. I know I could do political science but I just don't see that being a gateway into a career (correct me if I'm wrong). If there is a major/career in that sphere I would love to know what that would be. I was thinking law but I'm not sure if that is exactly what I want to pursue, I'm definetly open though. If there is any good ideas, please let me know.

What careers might suit someone interested in both STEM and the humanities?
I'm a HS junior and I've always been interested in both STEM and the humanities. I especially like science, computer programming, and history. I've struggled to narrow down specific careers I would like to pursue, since I'd really like to combine multiple of my interests. I know that I could probably major in interdisciplinary studies in college, but what kinds of careers might span fields like this?

Career Help!! I would love some help if anybody can recommend any pathways to look into. Thank you so much!?
Hi there, I am in Year 11 (sophomore year) and I am struggling to connect to any jobs that match my interests but also match my personality and lifestyle. I love psychology, history, research, journalism, and statistics. I am very passionate about climate change and human rights, so I would love a career in which I can help others (I am also a very empathetic person so that also contributes to my desire to help others). I know that I want a good work-life balance - possibly a career where I can make my own business - and possibilities to earn a decent salary. I also can be quite anxious, so working in a corporate 9-5 setting sounds like my nightmare!! I would love some help if anybody can recommend any pathways to look into. Thank you so much!

Am I good enough to secure a position in my chosen field?
I am hoping to pursue a career in history with the ultimate goal of becoming a professor of some sort. I understand that I am academically gifted and I am more knowledgeable about history than the average person, but that isn't exactly a high bar for collegiate positions. Everyone wanting these jobs is just as (or more) intelligent and knowledgeable as I am. Also, historically, I do not have the best track record of attaining employment. I have applied to dozens of positions in and around the town I live in, but have yet to gain any tangible employment. If a McDonald's will not even give me an interview, how could I hope to secure a position in such a niche, high-standards field?
What advice would you offer and opportunities would you highlight to someone pursuing their undergraduate degree in Anthropology, with an accompanying interest in Osteology and Ethics?
I am a 12th grader and uncommitted to a college at the moment. I am very passionate about Anthropology and am finding it difficult to find mentors in the field who can give me some words of advice towards the best opportunities and activities to pursue during the summer before undergrad and while in undergraduate school.

What are the current educational standards in Ohio for historical education? #Spring25
Hello! Grade 12 Highschooler here, currently majoring in social studies 9-12 education (with a focus on history). I have a good idea on my current required courses, but I am interested to know something about the job. What are the current standards in Ohio for historical education? Is there a regimented standard for the entire state, or it per school to decide? I am thinking of classes like World History, American History, or Government. If there are standards on the state level, how does a teacher usually find out when they change? How can I view those standards? Thank you all for your time. #Spring25
Could a degree in business, as well as history, help me find a career in Museum work?
I am a high school senior about to go to University. I am going to major in history with the goal of pursuing museum work or teaching. As much as I love history/humanities, they are not usually easy fields to break into or very high paying. Therefore, I'm would like to major in Business Admin. as well. Business is not what I'm passionate about, but it is something reliable I can fall back on if I can't find a job in the field I want. My question is mostly aimed to those in museum work, particularly those who are in charge of hiring: In your opinion, would a degree in both business and history stand out in a potential employee? And could the skills learned in a business degree apply to museum work in a way that would encourage potential employers to hire me? Thanks!

Varied field options- I'm unsure which to pursue?
Hello, Getting into college a little late in the game (nearing 40,) and I'm torn on what to focus on. I've a strong interest in Library Sciences, but also History and Conservation (e.g. Art, artefacts, physical media.) Currently will be stepping into Library Sciences as I begin college via Liberal Arts, but might change my focus to History as an undergrad. Ultimately I'd love to work in a museum, or even handle University archives and libraries- how should I narrow my broad set of interests down to help fine-tune my education towards this goal?
