What is the way forward after high-school?

Should I email the colleges I am interested in and reach out to their admissions offices early. Also how can I earn scholarships easier. I do online school right now and plan to go back to actual school this coming school year.

I'm a high school senior and I plan on getting my BSN and going into the air force as a nurse. Right now, I'm in the process of applying to schools and deciding on what exactly I want to do. So if anyone has any advice on what I should do that'd be great :)
