Would this youth human rights nonprofit idea be impactful and worth pursuing?

Hi! I’m a 17-year-old senior from Indiana developing a national youth-led human rights nonprofit focused on empowering underserved and displaced youth through education, storytelling, and advocacy training—giving them the tools to speak for themselves. Im trying to fill a growing gap in schools and communities: while STEM is prioritized, human rights and civics education are often ignored. Millions of young people grow up without knowing their basic rights—or how to protect them. Even in developed nations, marginalized youth (immigrants, foster children, and minorities) rarely receive legal literacy—and when abuse or injustice happens, reporting systems are confusing, unsafe, or in another language. My nonprofit would focus on things like bringing rights education to schools, shelters, refugee centers, and communities. Giving youth a platform to share their own stories, instead of being covered by journalists. Connecting youth with scholarships, legal aid info, and mental health resources. Also training students to teach rights education and lead advocacy programs. Before launching, I’d love to know from mentors and professionals: Does this sound like a mission you’d want to support or volunteer with? What makes a nonprofit like this stand out or succeed long-term? Any advice on making this idea realistic and scalable? Thank you so much for your feedback—it means a lot as I work to build something that helps youth everywhere find their voice and know their rights.

How do I get people to help me with my nonprofit?

I recently started a global youth-led nonprofit called Project Pulse, (@theogprojectpulse on TikTok and Instagram), which focuses on helping underserved communities across the globe gain access to healthcare by connecting them with licensed medical professionals. Right now, I’m facing a challenge: I don’t have medical professionals willing to partner with us. Beyond cold emailing (which often doesn’t get responses), what are effective strategies I could use to connect with doctors or healthcare providers who might want to get involved? Also, if you know of any medical professionals who may be open to volunteering their expertise, or if you’d like to help me grow this organization in other ways, I’d love your advice and support!

My main interests are Surgery, Cardiothoracic surgery, Cardiology, and Public/Global health. Is there anyone interested in mentoring me, or knows anyone who may be interested in mentoring me? I am also available for remote mentoring.

While Worcester State University has treated me well, it is not regarded as a school with a "big" name. I am pursuing a Master in Health Care Industry, a degree WSU offers as a 2 year program. Should I transfer to get the "big" name, or stay at WSU?

Sophomore at Worcester State Univeristy. Majors: Business Administration and Visual Art. Eventual Masters Degree for Health Care Industry. Employment: Intern at UMass Medical Center: Diabetes Center of Excellence. I am asking this question because I do realize that a career in health care is a fine choice considering the Industy is presently booming, however I have concerns about when the massive wave of baby boomers is no longer contributing to its growth. I have been working in the field since I was a volunteer at the hospital at 15 years old. I love working in the hospital, and while I am not too interested in the medical sciences, there are ample business opportunities that I am extremely interested in. My academic records show a history of excellence and determination. I am prepared to embark on this rigorous pursuit for higher education and in doing so, would like to be fully informed on the TRUE potential for the health care industry. #medicine #healthcare #health #medicare #healthcare-industry #global-health #health-policy #medicine-terminology

What type of jobs are available for someone to help other countries in need?

I am very anxious to travel the world and would like to help less fortunate countries with systems like their food and water. I also want to set up programs that provide shelter for those in need, but I am unsure if there are actual jobs offered and how to go about getting involved. #global-health #global-issues #volunteer-management #global-operations
