About

Hello!

I have been in the Human Resources field for more than 20 years. This 'career path' found me as I didn't know anything about 'HR' as I was entering the working world without finishing college and then having two children by age 21!

Being a mother was wonderful although I was quite young, I never regret my choice - I have a philosophy that life will show you the way as you let it unfold. Sometimes it feels as though the 'way' is easy and other times it is more challenging.

Fortunately, I was in good hands with some great people, unbeknownst to me at the time - I started as a Administrative Assistant and the managers quickly recognized that I was quite intelligent, could process information quickly and over deliver on projects. This was easy for me, because I love using my mind to figure out problems. Then I was offered the opportunity to enter the Human Resource team and my company also paid for me to continue my Bachelor's degree pursuit. It was a long haul with working full time and raising two young children - it was about balance and less sleep. LOL.

I find the HR field to be always ever-changing because it involves supporting people to be the best they can be at work or to help them reflect on potential other jobs that may be better suited for them if their performance is lacking. One of the main themes I have always seen in career development and acceleration is whether or not the person is feeling passionate about what they are doing and for me I am passionate about People, so the HR field has been right for me. I took my career and education further by getting certified as a coach, so I could support people even more.

There are many components in HR and my specialty areas have been in either a 'business partner' (do it all) role or in employee relations (escalated problems) - for the most part these roles involve solving problems...naturally, I like puzzles.

Thank you for reading!
